Council for Finnish University Libraries – SYN has produced a video about its new strategy. The Council of Finnish University Libraries is a co-ordinating and developing co-operation of the University Library Network, where all university libraries are represented. The National Library and the National Repository Library participate in the meetings as permanent experts organizations.
The Council’s role is to promote cooperation between university libraries, to launch development projects, to deliver opinions, to make initiatives and presentations, to carry out studies and to appoint joint representatives of university libraries to various institutions. The Council makes the impact of libraries’ activities and shared services visible, as well as the changes in the operating environment and the development of the sector. It works in partnership with key stakeholders and other library networks nationwide and internationally. The Council of Finnish University Libraries was established in 1996.
