The video also includes discussion between Mikkel Christoffersen and Information Specialist Marja Hjelt from The National Library of Finland.
Mikkel Christoffersen has served as the chief negotiator for Denmark’s national e-library since 2017. From February 2024 onward, he has worked as the director of EBLIDA in The Hague, Netherlands. Mikkel also serves as an e-lending expert for the European Commission.
E-Library Day was held on October 23, 2024, in Maijansali at the Helsinki Central Library Oodi. At the E-Library Day, designed for library employees, attendees heard updates on the current state of the E-Library, as well as insights from guest speakers on the future of the book industry and the potential of library e-lending services.
The E-library is a shared service for municipalities, from which you can borrow e-books, audiobooks and digital journals. The service is provided by the National Library of Finland in cooperation with public libraries.
