Nordic Libraries Annual is an annual conference looking at topical issues in public libraries and library development. In 2022 the conference was organized 2-3.11 in Helsinki, at the Central Library Oodi. Most of the programme was also streamed online. The theme for NLA 2022 was Literacy, Libraries and The Civil Society.

Libraries cultivate literacy for all ages. Literacy is a skill, but also a life-long practice of discovery, learning, and joy. Literacy has specific outcomes for personal and societal well-being by promoting participation to culture and society. It creates a sense of security and strengthens the democratic base of our communities.

The conference was organized by the Regional State Administrative Agencies in Finland in cooperation with Central Library Oodi and Library Channel (Kirjastokaista).
