The Finnish Library Association supports development cooperation with Namibian and Tanzanian libraries with the Libraries for development -project, which is part of the poverty reduction strategies of the partner countries in accordance with the United Nations Millennium development goals. Librarians came over from Tanzania and Namibia to visit Finnish libraries in order to find out what kind of ways there are to make libraries in Africa help people learn new skills and find jobs as well as to encourage people of different age to visit libraries.
