Birgitta Jónsdóttir is a member of the Icelandic parliament (Pirate party), poet, writer and an activist with a passion for freedom of speech and internet to name a few things. She has been supporting Wikileaks and more recently offering shelter to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. She also works with such groups as Saving Iceland and Friends of Tibet in Iceland.
